The professionally‐led workshop will give you:

A thorough understanding of aphasia and how it affects daily communication

Training in a set of techniques, called supported communication, to help your family communicate more effectively

A personalized set of communication tips and strategies that you can start using right away
- A notebook full of information about aphasia, communication, and resources.
This is a 2-day workshop, and you should attend both days. Lunch is included on both days and is an important time for conversation.
Daily schedule:
9:30 - 10:00 am Gather/Registration
10:00 - 11:00 am Large group: "I have aphasia - what is it?" (Day 1); "Support Communication" (Day 2)
11:00 - 11:15 am Break
11:15 - 12:15 pm Break-out sessions: For people with aphasia: "What kind of aphasia do I have?" (Day 1); "What strategies should I use?" (Day 2). For caregivers: "What is it like to have aphasia?" (Day 1); "What strategies should I use?" (Day 2)
